Its a goosebumps giving kind of experience. Most important - Laser Show after sunset. Make sure ur well eaten, bcoz even the canteen is after exit only. Points to remember - they don't allow any food items beyond the entry point. We tried spotting crocodiles but we had no such luck. The view point is amazing, will be better in a couple of years when there's full water in Narmada. They also play a short movie here, its worth a watch. There's a museum displaying the construction process of the statue and a little bit about our freedom struggle and Sardar Vallabhai Patels role in it. Take ample amount of time roaming around, clicking pics. The lines for the lift that takes u to the view point are really long, there's no escaping it, if u don't have the patience for lines then u can opt for express ticket. Also the same bus ticket is applicable for the Valley of flowers (huge garden with beautiful flowers on display), the Sardar Sarovar Dam visit. There are separate tickets for entry, for view point and for the buses that ferry you to the statue from the parking lot. Lucky for us that when we arrived at 11am,it wasn't too crowded. Since we went on a weekend, we tried booking tickets online, but bad luck, online ticket window closes 24hours in advance. If u r in vadodara or anywer near d statue area, do make sure to visit it.
